If you installed the RAID driver for the Onboard Promise Controller when you meant to run as IDE:
To fix:
1. set the Onboard Promise Controller Operating Mode to IDE in the BIOS.
2. in Windows, go into the DeviceManager, right-click the Promise controller, and choose Update Driver.
3. select "I will choose the driver" and click "Have Disk"
4. place the floppy disk or navigate to where you store the SATA378 driver (download from asus.com)
5. select the correct folder corresponding to your OS
6. choose the "WinXP Promise SATA378 (tm) IDE Controller"; then install
7. done
